Pantumai Mayamati Jharna

History / About
On the Indo-Bangladesh border, in the lap of Meghalaya, lies an incredibly beautiful village - Pantumai (or also spelled as Panthumai). It is a village in West Jaflong Union of Goainghat Upazila of Sylhet District. Behind the village are the Meghalaya Hills and it is on the banks of the Payain River.

The village is probably one of the most beautiful villages in Bangladesh. Near this village is a beautiful waterfall called Pantumai Waterfall. Its local name is Fatachori Falls, but popularly known to us as Pantumai/Panthamai Falls. Some also call it Big Hill Falls. Although the fountain falls in India, it is very close to the banks of the Pian River. So the beauty of the waterfall can be easily enjoyed from Bangladesh. BSF camp near India-Bangladesh border. BGB has no patrol in Bangladesh part. So it is unsafe to go near the border.

White water falling from above makes a wonderful sound. You will surely be amazed by the waterfalls and heavenly mountain streams. Standing on the border of Bangladesh, you can enjoy all the natural beauty of Pantuamai Falls. You can also bathe in the water that comes down from the waterfall. The eye-catching beauty of the waterfall attracts tourists so much that every day numerous tourists come here to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Apart from these nature attractions there are eight other nature attractions listed in Sylhet. There are also eleven attractions listed in this district in other categories. On the map above you will find the exact location of Pantumai Falls.
